A multi-sensorial performance walk tracing the canalised Sungei Bras Basah. Audience members perform a 1.5km procession, walking from Handy Road to City, whilst experiencing the river’s stories through bespoke drinks, spoken word, movement, textile object art and live music.
Water is the invisible system that connects bodies, landscapes and memories. When the Water Rose is the remembrance of a forgotten waterway that continues to flow beneath the ground. An immersive walking performance through the hidden waterways of Bras Basah. Combining botanical concoctions, movement, spoken word, music, and ritual, the work invites audiences to journey with unseen currents and encounter the body as a living archive of water, memories, and place.
